Privacy Policy
Last updated Oct 14, 2026
This policy explains what personal data Fraud Checker collects, why, and how it is protected.
Draft — this text has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change before launch.
What we collect
Account data: name, email address, optional public alias, language, and your verified mobile number.
Reports: the details you submit about a scam, including the scammer's identifiers (phone numbers, wallets, bank accounts, pages, names) and your evidence files.
Technical data: hashed IP addresses (we do not store your IP in readable form), and records of searches by type and a one-way fingerprint, never the text you searched.
How we protect it
Phone numbers, NIDs and account numbers are stored encrypted and looked up with a one-way keyed hash. Publicly they are only ever shown partly hidden (for example 017*** ***78).
Evidence files are stored privately. Images are re-encoded to remove hidden data such as GPS location. Only moderators see originals; the public sees only files a moderator approved, blurred where needed.
Your email address and phone number are never shown publicly. If you report anonymously, your name is hidden too.
Why we use it
To run the platform: verifying that reporters are real people, reviewing reports, preventing abuse, sending you codes and updates about your reports, and handling disputes and takedown requests.
Who we share it with
Service providers that help us operate (email delivery, SMS gateway, hosting, captcha), only as needed. Authorities when required by Bangladeshi law. We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
Account data for as long as your account exists. Search logs for 90 days. Moderation records longer, because they protect both reporters and people named in reports.
Your choices
You can update your name, alias and language in your settings, and ask for a copy, correction or deletion of your data through the takedown and privacy request form. Published reports may be kept in anonymised form to keep protecting others.
